Excellent post. And let's not forget the massive protests in Israel over
Netanyahu's efforts to disempower their supreme court. Even people from the IDF and Israeli intelligence were out protesting. My opinion is that Hamas took advantage of this weakened political situation with the encouragement of Iran, who didn't want to see any further agreements between Israel, the US and Saudi Arabia, as well as Russia, who is in cahoots with Iran and wanted to see the West in a weakened condition with regard to Ukraine.
Of course, maybe the fact that Trump would have rolled over for Putin and sacrificed Ukraine and NATO, might have made Iran and Russia push less on Hamas. Or maybe not.
