But, gun control measures could minimize the damage these suicidal people have.

How many people died at VT? 28 or so? How many people have died in these recent truck attacks? I'm also reminded of a Chinese incident at an elementary school where dozens of kids were stabbed, but few, if any, died.

It's silly to think we can stop every homicidal/suicidal person. Of course these will still happen even with the most strict laws possible. But it's also silly to think we can't do anything to try to minimize these types of situations. It's not an all or none decision. We can try to pass laws to reduce the amount of deaths related to these situations.

We're willing to pass the Patriot Act and gut the 4th amendment in the name of public safety, yet we can't modify anything related to guns because that would infringe on our second amendment rights? That doesn't make any sense to me.
