Related question - how much comfort are some of us anti-Trumpies
taking from this? Personally, I am feeling a bit better these days. Populists appearing marginalized. As we pretty much knew, Trump is more or less devoid of convictions of any kind beyond "Trump rules!" and has no hesitation whatsoever in completely and obviously contradicting himself. And in not admitting that he has done any such thing! But particularly with China right now - I think he lobbed missiles into Syria when meeting with Chinese leadership to make a statement to the Chinese - that was more important than making a statement to Assad. Same thing with suddenly rejecting the notion of China as currency manipulator. I think he's done a very good job of setting the stage for the Chinese to be motivated to reign in NK. Which IMO might be the only way to walk that threat back.
I suspect he and repubs in Congress might be very vulnerable to losing all his supporters except for "The Apprentice" fans who actually voted for a fictional character and republicans who will blindly vote republican no matter what.
