It is crazy how complicated our tax code is and I don't even have that complicated a return (W2 income, 1099 investment income, and a rental property). But between long term and ST cap gains (and the import from my brokerage account almost never works without manual adjustments), stock based compensation, qualified and non qualified dividends, deductions and deduction phaseouts, ACA surtaxes, IRA rollovers, etc, it makes my head spin. And I make my living dealing with numbers. I think this is the year I finally hire a CPA to do my taxes.
