But why is it OUR problem?

Like you said, SK and Japan have far more immediately to fear. And the whole world stands to lose should they develop long range delivery systems.

So why are we leading the charge? Why aren't we waiting for SK or Japan to ask for our help? Or for other world powers to decide that it's in everyone's interest to reign in NK?
