It is an embarassingly irresponsible position from the pov of duty.


The ancestral line that got us to this point is this: the GOP embraced the Tea Party to the point that Sarah Palin was on the party's ticket in '08 as the darling of the TP and GOP. She was a certifiable know nothing whack job who would have been in line for the presidency pending the health of John McCain. Mix in an intense antipathy for 8 years to all things Obama and you have the ultimate opportunist that only Tea Party lunatics could love, namely Donald Trump.

The "blame" as I see it for the Democrats is that as a political entity they have been supine to the point losing appeal as a ruling party locally as well as nationally because they do not stand for core values that ordinary people demand.

In short the GOP produced, nurtured, and starred in this shit show. Since they control all of the levers of government they should drop their summer soldier and sunshine patriot act and honor their oaths of office to protect the constitution form enemies foreign and domestic.
