I'd say its kind of shocking
It also says just how much of a threat to their brand they considered this troll. He is, by all definitions, a troll. Gotta be the first time a news agency was going to "out" a troll unless the troll removed the video. Whole thing is mind blowing, IMO.
If you told me 20 years ago that CNN would use their mouthpiece to threaten to out a private citizen because they disliked a comment they made, I'd say you were mad. But then time makes fools of us all.
Either way, I don't see this as a good precedent and have a feeling it will embolden a TON of trolls to their websites. They basically declared war on basement nerds...pretty dumb imo.
