Other people, who had some sort of low cost insurance plan, were fat and happy until they needed health care not covered by those bogus plans, and then they were in trouble financially. Emergency rooms were being flooded by people without insurance suffering from illness or disease that needed urgent care. the cost of giving them that health care was being absorbed in the form of higher fiscal deficits and higher premiums for everyone else.

And finally, what reality did you live in to say that everything was hunky dory with insurance premiums. Until Congressional neglect led to insurance companies exiting exchanges in the last 2 years, premiums under the ACA were rising more SLOWLY than previously.
