Not sure incredibly dumb is doing it justice. It was a monumentally poor

show of judgment, and that was exacerbated by the fact that she destroyed data in an attempt to block any investigation.

People complain that Trump, not looking past his personal liability in the Russia story, leaves us vulnerable. Many would probably be content to find out Trump did coordinate with Russians if they thought it was out of political naïveté, but that he was taking significant steps to prevent foreign influence in the future. The issue is bigger than him. It's about our future elections, and his ego won't let him admit Russia helped him at all.

HRCs destruction of materials pertinent to the investigation, and refusal to cooperate prevented a thorough accounting of who potentially accessed her communications. The FBI had to try to piece together as much of the picture as they could from what was left behind. I don't think there is any doubt that adversaries were monitoring her server. As soon as she landed, any foreign nation with a modicum of sense would be probing her devices. And she ran the server unencrypted. Even if the vulnerability has been closed, it could have given adversaries insight into how far they could push some global issues to our detriment at the time.

I don't like her running the server, but accept every politician uses communication off the record. The shady nature of the personal server would have been something I ultimately dismissed if I thought she was more concerned about coming clean for the nation's benefit than she was prevaricating to cover her own behind. And again, if by some miracle adversaries failed to give the SoS even a superficial look, the way she ran it was such bad judgment... it's hard to put into words.
