In the grand scheme of this administration
probably not a big difference (although I'll take anything possible!). Plenty of awfulness still in place. However, Bannon's maniacal obsession (self-admitted) seemed to be regarding China and trade - an issue that is very important in itself but also with deep tentacles in other directions (ranging from our own tax policies to how we manage other extremely sensitive Pacific Rim foreign relation issues). Absolutely no question trade will remain a major issue for the administration (and badly handled imo), but the removal of an individual who seemed as deeply philosophically opposed to this issue as Bannon while at least a few other voices (such as Cohn) remain -- it at least theoretically may help.
