What's this?

Sure it is bad, but we as a society have not exactly done a great


job in guiding our youth in how to treat people respectfully. While it comes intuitively for some people, for many it needs to be taught, often the hard way.

Generations ago, we isolated men and women through extreme societal norms. Those institutions came tumbling down during the middle / late 20th century and we are still learning how to protect each other. It doesn't help that there many people who achieve a significant amount of power are inclined to abuse that power.

What I'm trying to say is not to oversimplify this. It isn't exactly an easy problem.
