That's how I think he is overplaying his hand.

For Bannon, if the "MSM" says it and he doesn't like it, it's false. If it turns out all this mass of evidence against Moore has no basis whatsoever, well then I guess he's vindicated. That requires an enormous leap of imagination. It does not take much on the topic of 30 somethings cruising for teenagers to disqualify them from public service for most decent people. Otherwise, Bannon IMO shows that he has no clue about vetting candidates he wants to push. And he'll have potentially helped put Alabama in quite quandary - electing a Senator that the Senate legally refuses to seat. Alabama becomes a state with one senator.

At some point Bannon starts to look like a deranged conspiracy theorist re: his MSM rantings, and with enough power for his lunatic ravings to have real consequences.

Maybe it is just one little shove back towards that hole that this weasel crawled out of.
