On the stock prices point, I wonder if the passing of the tax plan could

be a "sell the news" event with the near uninterrupted run-up we've seen in stock prices this year. But I do think over the long haul this will be good for stock prices... particularly companies with heavy domestic sales (transports, telcos, utilities, etc), and will also be good the companies with a lot of stranded overseas profits (tech, pharma).

I would bet the calculator is accurate, it's just too aggregated to be meaningful to any one individual situation. There was a calculator posted a few weeks back that had the side-by-side of the house and senate plan where you input more exact information. I'd be curious to see that for the latest proposal.

I like that I'll get a tax cut, and I hope to not be working by the time the tax savings reverse and yield a tax increase in 8 years... So from a selfish perspective, I'm happy. But I could do without the individual cuts. It seems unnecessary at this time. I don't feel like getting into the whole debate on the corporate tax cuts with you again, but I am glad to see that addressed as I do think having such high nominal rates relative to the rest of the world drives corporate tax strategy and structures that is ultimately not beneficial to the US. I've seen first hand it at multiple companies throughout my career. ... I just wish corporate tax reform was being addressed in a more thoughtful manner.

I'd also like to see them eliminate some of the horse shit provisions form our tax code like carried interest tax treatment. It probably wouldn't make a meaningful difference in aggregate tax revenues, but would address a major "fairness" issue that carried interest creates.
