The right thing to do. That's a simple matter of competing in the global marketplace. We don't need to get into silly anecdotal wars - a specialty of Trumpies, but a favorite of all us political gadflies. Here's this one great example and it proves some comprehensive point! We don't need no stinking analysis! We have dramatic examples! And anti Trumpies will come with their fair share. Just wait.

But there's nothing far fetched about what Matt is saying. It's smart PR. If you're AT&T and you think a YE bonus is a good idea, then of course you announce it is a result of the tax reform (still chuckle a little with that word, but the lower CORP rates are the most sensible thing about it), and by the way we sure are proud to be the first to pass it on to our peeps!

If you're managing Donald Trump there's always the outside chance that a good personal ego massage will provide outsized benefits. Especially if already in a dispute. Which dispute may already be mostly about a certain orange ego (CNN).

I mean, you'd fire your PR guys for doing it any differently.
