I always find it perplexing that these racists have no understanding of
the founding of our country; then again, they have always been there during every migration here. And most of the fear and hate comes from having to compete with people who have shown that they will give up all they know to improve their lot. Look at the Irish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Latin American, Mexican, Jewish influxes---the xenophobia was insane and I wont even get into the blacks or native americans. Currently reading "A Different Mirror: A History or Multicultural America"---a lot of primary sources referenced within and expand upon all of this. And even with all that hate and a myriad of laws to keep these people down, they still came and still worked to improve their lives because they knew their children and their childrens would be the ultimate benefactors. So maybe someone is a day laborer or whatever tiday---but each generation has that opportunity to rise and build upon that. And thats how most of us are here today. Welcome to America.
