There is a core group of evangelicals that don't fit.

That's my corner of evangelicalism. I'm proud that my children spent time working in Haiti as part of a church group -- not for the minimal help they offered, but for what they learned. My sister and brother-in-law bring medical services to central America. And I see other raising serious questions, especially among younger evangelicals. I really think the "shithole" thing will strongly damage Trump among some sectors of evangelicalism. It won't send them flocking to the Democrats, but might lead to a step back from political issues and a willingness to take issue with certain platforms.
