Yeah, but you know what came after "you can keep your doctor"?
"If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan."
Even if we accept the truthiness of "you can keep your doctor"**, that second statement was an obvious blatant lie.
**and since most people rightfully interpreted that phrase as "you will be able to continue seeing your doctor", and Obama was obviously trying to assuage people's fears over losing their doctor, I think we can still safely assign a large handful of Pinocchios to that statement. Unless you prefer the only other interpretation, which is that Obama chose his words purposefully to have the exact one-way meaning you assign, and allowed the country to believe otherwise, which is very much the tactic of a slimy used-car dealer.
