Fair take, but the repubs were hurt by the shutdown. Enough that they quick

quickly capitulated. In fact the PPACA is still law. I'll note that in the last Ted Cruz shutdown, there was far more showmanship, and claims that the shutdown was killing people.

This time, it is hard to blame repubs looking at the yeas and nays, and because there wasn't anything in the CR that was a poison pill. In fact, there were sweeteners. Just not the one dem leadership wanted.

If democrats don't similarly roll over quickly, they could really screw up their solid momentum. I suspect this was just a show for the base, and it will happen ("look how hard we're 'resisting!'").

Better we drop the entire CR charade, and return to normal budgeting, but I'm not holding my breath.
