When people quote the Statue of Liberty and say just
below how soon we forget our past, they are merging the legal and illegal immigration debate. The intentional softening of language used to describe illegals is another tactic used. For fucks sake you had HWW on here last week claiming Trump was trying to engage in ethnic cleansing. I’m sure he didn’t think that up by himself.
TK rants about illegals, but his biggest sticking point is citizenship and giving the Dems a bigger voting base. And I have yet see from anyone a valid reason for allowing illegals the ability to obtain citizenship at some point. Citizenship and all of its advantages is a birthright or reserved for people who come to this country legally and follow all the procedures and test to become citizens. There’s no way in hell a person, whose first act in this country was breaking the law, deserves the same rights as everyone who did it the correct way.
As far as the millions already here give them some kind of work card or visa to make them legal. Charge a tax if you have to as some kind of punishment. I don’t think deportation is right or the smartest way to go. Citizenship and deportation are the fringes sticking points and if both were taken off the table a deal could easily be reached.
