I'm on the Dems side more often than not, but they just entered the "turnabout is fair play" column and no longer have that high ground on using gov't shutdown as a hostage. And that's even with me agreeing with their stance and recognizing that this is the only leverage.

What really sucks though is that NEITHER side gives a damn for the most part. The key here is "Hmmm....which side is the public going to blame?"

If the Dems start to think that the public will blame them, they'll cave. If the Repubs are convinced that the public is blaming them, they'll cave. And that SHOULDN'T be how it works.
