So here is the actual memo in its entirety. The brief parts not redacted

claim two things:
1) that Steele lied to the FBI about contacts he was having with the media
2) that Steele's credibility should be questioned because a) he may have gotten some info (never published) from a Clinton associate through a State department associate; and b) because he met with the press and released info to them.

There has been no question that Steele DID meet with media. His response is that he did not think the FBI was doing anything with the material he gave them, and he was very concerned (based on what he found out) that trump would win the election . So no news here.

Did he get some piece of info that may have originated with a Clinton source? Who knows, but so what? Could the ex spy have gotten something through informal channels from an associate at the state department? maybe, but so what?

Doesn't our level and direction of outrage depend on what the info was and how it was used? If it was evidence of a likely crime, I personally don't care who the source was. If it was an attempt to manipulate public opinion, then yes I DO care. But it was never published.

And this was AFTER Steele had already approached the FBI. Which was after the FBI had already started investigations.
