It's an interesting argument

I view it differently... Somebody locks me and a hundred people in a room with a hungry bear, then throws in a box full of shotgun parts. While we're assembling the shotgun, the bear eats 10 of us. I'm not going to thank the guy for the shotgun parts, I'm going to be pretty damn pissed about the bear.

A few hundred thousand people die each year from malaria, most are children. If there is a being that is both aware of this and has the power to stop this instantly, then fact that this being chooses not to do so makes them about as far from praiseworthy as I can imagine.
