Trump is threatening a veto in large part because it doesn't have enough spending, particularly his wall, which so many thoughtful people think is a waste. Also because it has the wrong kind of spending - Trump wants to cut social spending further by all accounts.

And I'd probably agree with some of what he'd like to cut. But think about it in relation to whittling away at Trump's base - Trump has massively increased spending, including getting rid of the sequester that was so important to all repubs when a dem was in office, and at the same time dramatically cut taxes without paying for them. Even conservative projections predict an exploding deficit.

But still, you see our esteemed poster friend applaud the veto. Shut down govt. Cool. Draining the swamp. Even though he has nothing bad to say, and in fact applauded, all the spending increases that Trump wanted.

Trump and his prancing Trumpie Troupe live in the world they want, not the one they have. That's literally the biggest threat of a Trump presidency - a large chunk of the country is completely unwilling to see or acknowledge things they don't want to see.

They will applaud Trump's veto. And they will applaud if he doesn't veto. They will applaud him because they suckle his orange teet. He really could walk down 5th Avenue and shoot a random person in the face, and they'd applaud that. FOX would tell them the victim was the leader of the Deep State, and they'd applaud.
