What's this?

It's not an emotional response at all. It would serve no purpose, and

would cause real pain to real people, so very rationally, I see no reason to support it. It isn't just that Trump isn't doing it for the right reasons - it would in no way help to reduce the deficits and debt. The tax cut bill has already added trillions to the deficit over the next 10 years - much more in all likelihood than projected. And everyone seems on board with increasing military spending. And the entitlements are what they are until somebody does something about them (this veto will not), Everything else is just noise. They have no real impact. Those favoring it for budgetary reasons just want to feel like they are being hawkish, but it isn't real.
