MTV has nothing to do with it.
If they’ve been on board with the recent youth protests, they’ve followed the lead of th Parkland kids who ignited it.
“Vilifying an object”. Right. I suppose thinking people should be licensed to drive is villifying cars. Rules against drunk driving is villifying alcohol. Understanding that people pulling the trigger are the ones who are guilty is not mutually exclusive with common sense rules - some guns and accessories are mostly designed for maximizing killing power. Some deadly weapons shouldn’t be available to underage people anymore than cars or alcohol. Every legal gun purchase should come with a comprehensive background check. On some of these things progress has already been made.
IMO these statements about the protests being about villifying objects is more right wing sound biting to just short circuit the broader, more thoughtful discussions on the subject. Zero sum. Black and white. Marching in lockstep with a narrative. A false one at that. The latest version of “thoughts and prayers”.
A bunch of middle aged sheep marching in lockstep. It’s the young protestors, and a lot of us older folk who refuse to be shepherded, who are pushing back. For good, I hope. [Post edited by hoolstoptheheels at 03/25/2018 3:26PM]
