I don't doubt that you would have objected no matter what, but a lot people judge these exec actions only based on whether it was their guy who did it. I think every president since Truman has been doing things like this.

If it is spurring debate about updating the '01 authorization, good. If fears about Trump's instability are driving us back towards traditional Constitutional approaches to making war, also good. But Trump didn't do anything all the other presidents in my lifetime haven't done, too.
