I don't believe it to be bad.

Edit: I went back and read the article thinking I had missed something that implied it was a bad thing to do. The only thing I could see being taken negatively is the headline which I condensed but with no change in the meaning.

And for the record, I believe we should always be attempting to communicate with friend or foe. I do find it funny to see others who once said you can't trust them, or you shouldn't engage them, change their opinion to suit their politics.
