This is actually the reverse of what Tuck is saying but backs what I was

Saying about foreign investment in NY. Wealthy people around the globe have to have a piece of the big apple to consider themselves part of the global elite.

There is one other theory this article might point to. A lot of the property bought by wealthy global investors in NYC could be money laundering schemes. And now that there’s a lot of heat surrounding that in NYC, they may not be seeing a purchase here as something worth opening themselves up to scrutiny with a zealous NYAG looking into these cases.
