It can be, and it doesn't.


The joke, of course, being that the claim "But I've got black friends" is an absurd defense against some sort of charge of racism (for conservatives), and equally absurd as evidence of a person being woke, hip, or otherwise plugged into something other than lily-white society (for limo libs)

And history is replete with examples of people who are prejudiced against broad groups of people, yet find individual members of that group to be fine people indeed.
