No. Trump all but green lighted him.

Rand Paul was such a clown yesterday - because I was home in the afternoon watching the talking heads, I saw him on FOX, CNN, and the NewHour. I was surprised to see him so supportive of Trump. And he was a broken record, saying the same things verbatim all 3 times. One point he thrice made was that when he sees Russian diplomats, he says "hey, not sure if you guys really meddled in the election, but if you did, it backfired, because relations between our countries are so strained!"

Yeah, that's what matters to Putin, jackass. What matters to Putin is undermining the Western alliance where ever he sees it - NATO and the EU right now. Helping populists to power is his greatest weapon, and really his only weapon. Trump is doing his work for him. I just saw an interview with two pundits who both predicted that if Trump wins in 2020, NATO will fall apart. Populists are still knocking on the door in one EU country after another, and they won in Italy. You want to bet on Macron's chances against Le Pen next time they go head to head?

Putin's cyber plans have been a smashing success so far, and he is paying no price. Why would he possibly stop?
