I'm not interested in relitigating the Reagan Presidency. I actually feel
fond toward his personality still. It isn't that. And he held the office with a dignity not many have (see Lou Cannon's "Role of a Lifetime.").
I have two lasting quibbles. His decision to promote states rights in Philadelphia, MIssissippi, I still view as deeply hurtful. (I actually had a job not far from there from 1982-1986), and, of course, his de facto fiscal policy that we've all learned to accept that I believe will at some point hurt the country beyond repair.
Other than those (I think he was out to lunch when GWHB ran Iran Contra), I don't have a lot of truck with the man. [Post edited by Shenhoo at 07/17/2018 3:12PM]
