I'd make a different argument. This is what you get when

insurers and lobbyists write the rules for both parties.

The insurers and lobbyists for pharma, hospitals, and providers (looking at you AMA) are most concerned at making sure they don't get hurt financially from any legislation offered by either party.

They took Hillary to the woodshed. Obama had the political sense to offer them a seat at the head of the table. And the Trump Republicans are serving them meat and potatoes and dessert as they sit.

Go to single payer. Avoid having multiple layers of insurance administrators receiving fat salaries with their assistants and corporate board and high rise buildings in our downtown cities. They don't make anyone well at all. In fact, they make me sick:).
