I can't believe this will be viewed any other way.
Just assuming nothing more material comes out about it, which would have to justify remaining quiet until this very convenient moment.
The excuse, often perfectly valid IMO, is that the trauma of the assault clouds the thinking, victim can't face it. In this case, she apparently got free before anything that traumatic happened. So why would we be only hearing about this now? Especially in the #metoo era.
Only based on what little I've read here, doesn't seem credible that it's because she was too traumatized. Because she didn't think it was a big enough deal until dems convinced her otherwise - that seems credible.
I have this suspicion that the dems will regret this, especially if they take it to the mat.
