Brilliant guy when it comes to numbers, but regurgitates the typical talking points about how the Democrats started the KKK among other lame Fox News junk. He says he doesn’t watch Fox News and then I’ll come home and catch him watching it. It’s like a drug addict who refuses to admit he has a problem.

I usually do everything I can to not discuss politics with him but he’s the type that loves to troll while he watches the news with loud sighs or big teeth clucks and saying loudly “come on!” doing every thing he can to try and elicit a response from anyone. It’s pretty much like reading some of these soapbox posters here.

Some of my favorite arguments over the years from him:

You think pilots are smart? Well, George W. Is a pilot. Would you let (random Dem) pilot your plane? It was exactly like the Groh argument from a while back, no kidding and he doesn’t read the board.

He’s pro gun control but can’t tell me which party is for or against stricter controls.

He thinks there’s too much hidden dirty money in politics but can’t tell me which party has been fighting more transparency over donor money in politics.

He wants less expensive prescription medications and to protect Medicare but he can’t tell me which party has been fighting more access and cheaper health care.

One time he said most women sleep around in the workplace to get ahead and they know what they’re doing when they go to work dressed sexy, so the metoo movement is BS.

Ivy League educated guy, lived all over the world, belongs to a very new age religion which would not be accepted by the evangelicals that have come to dominate the GOP, which is why it’s so befuddling that he’s so woefully opinionated without any basis for his opinions other than Fox.

Mom is more chill. My wife and I enjoy repeating what she once said during the election:

Wife: So wait, you actually like Trump?

Mom: (shrugging) Well, if he’s gonna Make America Great Again...
