winners were more of the moderate or less loony variety. Or at least were smart enough to portray themselves as such. At least in the races that could ever be in doubt. Occasio-Cortez actually seems like more of an outlier in what is a hard left district. Certainly was that way in VA (although VA always seems to return to the middle from whatever extreme), and I can't believe the seats that were flipped in TX, So CA, and such went to avowed Socialists.

Where that seems to be a bigger problem for the Dems is on the National level, where they seem to be moving hard left to excite the base. To the point that it makes me wonder if even someone like Biden could possibly win the nomination. And that can filter across the entire party when a national election is in play. Some of those same races could be lost if they're having to follow the lead of Bernie, Fauxcahontas, Kamala, etc. Tough to appeal to those same voters by claiming you can "work with Trump" and across the aisle when that's atop your ticket.
