of immigrants. First this assumes they haven't gone through the immigration process to become citizens yet, or are even immigrants technically, they are long term refugees. But most importantly this just allows for the deportation if they have been found guilty of violent crimes, and had removal ordered by an immigration judge. So treated just like other immigrants and refugees that commit serious crimes before becoming citizens and are ordered removed, and no longer given special protection as that 2008 agreement apparently gave them.

With that said, I'm not losing sleep over this one way or another. I'm certainly not going to defend convicted violent criminals just to "get Trump", or paint a false "anti-immigrant" narrative, but there are also valid reasons to argue against deporting someone that has been here 20+ yrs, especially if it can be shown that they could be in serious danger being returned to Vietnam. I would imagine some of those pre-95 refugees aren't all going to be warmly welcomed by the regime.
