Sums it up. The state shouldn't be able to compel vaccinations, but if a

parent refuses, there should be consequences for such a reckless decision. They forfeit the ability to have their child enroll in public schools. I'm not sure if it's already the case, but they should be forced to inform any private schools as well as insurance providers (and there should be a carve out to allow insurance companies to charge high premiums). Someone has to pay for the inevitable outbreaks of long suppressed diseases.

With the danger non-vaccinated pose to the rest of the population, I'd be open to other punitive measures. Maybe requiring the family to wear dunce hats when in public?
