Congress agreed to 1.375B specifically for wall funding. As well as previou

funding for both wall construction and other border security last year. This, as I understand it, would be shifting funding from within DOD which is responsible for National Security. So not out of line with the intent and purpose for the funds originally, other than arguing whether or not a wall qualifies for National Security. Surely you would not be OK if instead Trump used those funds to pay military forces to provide that security, just because that would be more in line with how the funds were allocated.

DACA would've been taking funds to use for administration and services for DACA folks from the pool of money allocated by Congress to enforce, not ignore, immigration laws, let alone benefit those that came here illegally. Seems quite different than what those funds were intended for.

Again, I'm not a fan of this Emergency Declaration, but I'm struggling to buy into this being a valid criticism, particularly when you tie it to opening the door for future abuses. That door was already opened.
