I think your first sentence completely misses the point. You would not

have this knowledge about the Bern (I think your conclusion is wrong, which I'll address next, but you can have your own opinion about it) if he didn't provide you with the transparency. You are entitled to know this about a guy running for pres, and entitled to engage in a discussion about your perception of his hypocrisy. Trump denies voters that same right. It should be a right. If he can't handle the heat of public criticism, his first course of action should be to stay out of the public domain. Not run for office. And his second course of action should be to cool it with the tweeting and all the other controversy that he thrives on. Trumpies love his communication style, and this is the flip side. Actions have consequences.

And the fact that he won without affording voters the same opportunity that you seem to like having with the Bern - that's circular reasoning, because it is you and your fellow Trump supporters who make that possible, and it is you who can change it. Qualifier - I am not attacking you personally, and if you think he should release returns, I agree, and I accept that you can vote for candidates about whom you don't like everything - like lack of transparency. But any critique of the Bern should at least begin with a "good on ya" for showing so much transparency.

I am not a Bern supporter. If my choice is Bern and Trump, I'll take the Bern if I have to, but if I am as confident about the blueness of NYS as I expect I will be, I may vote third party (in a battleground, I would be an anybody but Trump voter). But I don't think there is anything hypocritical about a progressive making a great living. More power to him. And I see nothing hypocritical in simply taking the SS that he is entitled to by virtue of his contributions over the years. All of that is simply rational economic behavior, which I will criticize in nobody.

In the most important possible way, if Bern is now a top tax bracket earner, and he still supports extremely progressive tax rates that would cost him personally, then he is putting country before self (I understand how baffling that is to a Trump supporter :)), and is anything but a hypocrite.

How about if he suddenly supports a flatter tax structure? Isn't it great that we voters get to see that maybe he's got a selfish interest in that policy change?
