Some of the resident idiots below were arguing he's loaded and has a bunch
of fancy vacation homes and "isn't the real deal" because he only donates a small percentage of his take-home pay to charities.
Last I checked:
-Sanders has spent his entire career as a low-maintenance public servant
-In his most lucrative years (the two since his 2016 campaign), at the height of his celebrity, he and his wife together made around a million bucks (from the tax returns he released). In most other years, just a respectable income of around 200K (about what associates at major law firms make).
-He recently purchased a baller ass pimp house on a lake in Vermont for a whopping $570K.
Yeah, dude is just living it up, high on the hog. Laughing all the way to the bank.
Anecdote: last summer was on a plane with the Bern. He sat one row in front of me, in coach class, on a shitty American Airlines flight (again, totally baller). Had a chance to speak with him for a few mins and he seemed like a really nice man.
I don't agree with him on everything but he's the real deal as far as working class advocates go. Has about a 40 year history to back that up.
