Agree completely. But IMO it's a bit absurd that someone can still be fired
or not hired, solely for their sexual orientation. Yes, many states, and companies de-facto, prohibit it, but I just don't see any reason why this hasn't long ago been done at the Fed level and be done with it. Admittedly a pretty nominal impact in the grand scheme given where we already are, and again, we're still well ahead of most countries in this regard, and way ahead of many more, so Rapinoe's criticism is not exactly at the level of worthiness many wish to portray.
As for societal acceptance, I absolutely agree. The improvements we've seen in just the last 10-20 years are simply phenomenal. Doesn't mean it doesn't still exist, and that it can't be improved further, but like racism, that is something that can only face a shrinking future with time. So let's not overstate the reality.
