Sure, markets tend to pause and trade in a range after big run-ups.


Coming out of the Great Recession, we saw a huge, mostly sustained run from the low 800s on the S&P when Obama took office to the ~2K range by mid 2014 (~20% annualized return over 4 1/2 years). For the next 27 months, the market traded mostly within a range and was up just single digits over that 27 month period... until Trump was elected and the market took off again.
