I would say "preach it" again, especially to your first paragraph.
I personally am voting for the dem no matter who it is. Reclaiming the US from Trumpistan is jobs one through infinity.
My concern is lots of people don't agree with me. Trump is going to be impeached IMO. I don't think that ship can be turned now. I can grant you that chances of conviction may have edged up over the past week, but I think odds are still extremely small. And if he is acquitted, then winning the election is an absolute must. As you put it - returning to normalcy - may be an impossibility if Trump is impeached, acquitted, and re-elected, at least for the foreseeable future.
When dems are pushing medicare for all with all they have, or talking about radical (to too many voters) increases in tax rates, especially if the economy is still at least petering along, then they are simply begging to loose. And for an anti-Trumpie, I can't imagine a worst case outcome (which is why I think much more thought should go into impeaching with no chance of conviction).
