And depending on how the public hearings go, it could shine a spotlight on his batshit crazy shadow Trumpistanese foreign policy. Trump appointed Pompeo Secy of State of the US. Perhaps bad enough. But he then appointed creepy Rudy as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Propaganda of Trumpistan, and did what he could to cover up its efforts in the furtherance of the Fantasy Kingdom of his wet dreams ( the real Deep State). Reminding us all of that might not play well to the citizens of the USA, who still outnumber the subjects of Trumpistan, even in swing states IMO.

Assuming the impeachment itself doesn't alienate them too much, that is. But I think this is why Trump needs to kill Biden's candidacy now. His options would shrink in the general IMO.
