Because this is a big chess match and right now her only real concern is

convincing the X% who is still behind Bernie to consolidate behind her and she is running on a transition to single-payer (but won't admit that it would require her to raise taxes on middle class people).

Of course, I would prefer she just lay it all out there and say "you're going to save $1,500 a month that you piss away on private insurance that you lose the day you switch jobs or are out of work (and your employer will no longer need to supplement your pay with a healthcare pan), but you and your employer are going to need to chip in a modest 2% of your income between the two of you. For the average family, that means you're still saving [made up number, but let's say $800/month] but some of you who earn more are going to end up paying more, just like you do today under Medicare.

That would be honest but I suspect it doesn't poll well and she doesn't want her opponents or Republicans running ads 24/7 saying she intends to raise YOUR TAXES.

I too would prefer she just be honest, and credibility is already an issue for her. She apparently doesn't have license to lie indiscriminantly like our esteemed president does.
