No it is not, but the current right couches it as such and has made great


traction with the vast majority of Americans in making them think as much.

Had a great conversation with a 28 year vet recently in my favorite watering hole. He started the usual right wing "socialism" stuff and I pointed out to him that by his way of thinking he made pretty much every penny of his lifetime earnings via the socialist structures in America. He then, of course, countered that isn't socialism. To which I replied no it is not and pointed out that neither were the things he was complaining about. He admitted it was hyperbole.

Problem is that sort of thinking is pervasive and enables the very rich/powerful in widening the wage gap in this country which (if uncorrected) will eventually lead to a revolution and perhaps true socialism. Warren and Sanders are popular right now for a reason. Something is going to have to change. Some people tend to forget that when 10% of the people have 90% of the wealth, it usually means 90% of the people want to do something about that - and this is a democracy.
