Give me a break. This is not business as usual. It seems to be a fact that
Iran shot this plane down. It also seems to be a fact that this happened, since they were on high alert, and a trigger happy crew made a tragic mistake. That is all on Iran. It is also a fact that they were on high alert due to a military escalation that the US started, apparently due to an imminent threat from Iran.
However, it looks more and more like the imminent threat was a false justification to cover up that this was a temper tantrum by Trump, possibly due to protests against the US embassy, and that there was no specific imminent threat. This was an option passed up by W and Obama, and it was one of many options which was not, according to reports, pushed by the military as necessary.
While tantrums may have happened since the dawn of time, we haven't had that leading US foreign policy in the past. And as an indirect result of this tantrum, these people are dead. We didn't cause their deaths, but immature leadership did contribute.
If you disagree, do you maintain that these people would be dead now if we hadn't killed Soleimani? [Post edited by HoosWillWin at 01/10/2020 10:16AM]
