Looking forward to the answer to this question. just looked up a

hypothetical non-smoking single male with my birthday only 20 years younger (because I'm medicare).

In Colorado, that guy--a twenty year younger me-- can get a GOLD plan for $581 per month. It has a $1400 deductible and a 20% copay with a maximum of $8150 out of pocket annually.

So then I added a wife and two teenagers and the most expensive GOLD plan (with 1400 deductible/2800 for whole family and 80/20 copay with a max annual out of pocket of $8150 individual $16,300 for the whole family) was an "Anthem BC/BS Gold PathwayX HMO with 1400 Rx Co-pay" at $2074 per month.

The "crappiest Bronze" was $1005 per month with the same copay and the same max out of pocket.

I'm not saying Palmyra is making stuff up or buying stuff he read somewhere, but it really seems odd to me.
