But don't you have to look at the curve combined with when more

aggressive social distancing measures were taken too? Feels like we're 1 - 2 weeks into some fairly aggressive social distancing measures (certainly not to the extent of China). I don't have a good sense of when on the curve Italy started taking it seriously, but it feels like from my casual following of it, they didn't start taking it seriously until the shit totally hit the fan and they were already being overwhelmed. We started taking it seriously 1 - 2 weeks ago. And while things have gotten markedly worse for us over the last 2 weeks, I don't think you could describe our situation from 1-2 weeks ago as "the shit hitting the fan".
