COVID's already killed more people than died on 9-11, but there's no smoking ruin where the WTC used to be. There are no horrific shots of people choosing to plunge to their deaths rather than burn alive. There's no terrorist group who look differently, speak differently and worship differently from us promising more where that came from.
Mostly, if you don't live in the greater New York area or personally know someone who's died this is pretty remote thing. Throw in the fact that we've been going on a decade now of half the country being in open cultural war against those damn Coastal Elites and why the hell should Trumplandia even believe this is a real threat yet? Closing schools? Stay at home orders? I'm supposed to give up my freedom because New York is sick?
